Client: a PE Backed beauty holding company owning 3 brands. Summary:The Inventory and COGS Accounting Senior Manager owns the global inventory and cost of goods sold function and oversees the transaction accounting for our direct-to-consumer and marketplace channels. This individual is responsible for standard costing, landed cost, inventory valuation and reserves and COGS variance analysis across three brands, seven legal entities and six markets, and sets the standard cost framework for the group. The role also leads the cost analysis behind fulfillment, freight and sourcing decisions, making this individual the authoritative source on what our products cost to make and deliver. Reporting to the Global Financial Controller, the Inventory and COGS Accounting Senior Manager leads two direct reports covering inventory and COGS accounting and channel transaction accounting for Shopify, Amazon and Shopee, and works closely with the global operations, purchasing and logistics teams. Soleil Collective went live on Oracle NetSuite on 1 August 2026 and the function is currently supported on an interim basis, so this individual will inherit a working close process and be expected to build process, documentation and standards through the first year - a rare opportunity to shape a global function, and a new ERP instance, across a whole group rather than a single entity. Responsibilities• Own the standard cost model across brands and entities in NetSuite, including the periodic review and re-set, and the documented basis of each element of the cost build.• Own landed cost accounting end to end, working with purchasing and logistics so that every cost element is captured at source. Our products are made by co-manufacturers, so the cost build runs from components, through inbound freight and a fill and pack charge, to freight on to the 3PL; there is no work in progress or labor absorption.• Monitor and explain variance to standard, including purchase price variance and inventory revaluation, and explain COGS and margin movements by brand, channel and entity.• Own inventory reconciliation and valuation across all group entities and warehouses, including inventory in transit and intercompany purchases, and prepare inventory reserve and provision analysis.• Work closely with the operations team to maintain inventory integrity in NetSuite, resolving quantity and valuation discrepancies, stock movements, disposals and write-offs at source rather than by adjustment.• Oversee channel transaction accounting for Shopify, Amazon and Shopee: review the monthly output prepared by the channel transactions accountant, and hold accountability for the accuracy of channel revenue, fee and COGS balances.• Analyze third-party logistics and shipping costs, including reconciliation of 3PL reporting to NetSuite and investigation of cost variances by lane, channel and entity.• Work alongside purchasing, operations and logistics teams - review co-manufacturer and supplier cost changes, freight lane economics and fulfilment options - quantifying the margin impact of operational decisions before they are taken and grounding recommendations in actual cost data.• Oversee accounts payable operations relating to production and logistics, ensuring accurate cost allocation, payment processing aligned to production timelines and substantiation of invoices.• Own inventory, COGS and channel revenue close activities to the group timetable, including accruals and closing journal entries, improving cycle time and reducing rework.• Build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all owned processes, maintain clean audit-ready documentation for inventory, COGS and channel balances, and act as the primary contact for external audit in these areas.• Lead, develop and set clear standards for two direct reports, delegating substantive ownership rather than tasks, and drive automation and reporting accuracy toward one process and one source of truth in NetSuite. Role requirements:• Hands-on standard costing experience in Oracle NetSuite, in a live multi-entity, multi-currency environment, is required. This will be tested at interview; exposure limited to implementation or reporting is not sufficient.• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced consumer goods, retail or e-commerce business, with significant time spent in cost accounting.• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent certification preferred. Understanding of IFRS is beneficial.• Depth in standard cost maintenance, variance analysis, landed cost reconciliation, inventory valuation and reserves; ideally costing finished goods produced by contract manufacturers rather than in-house production.• Multi-entity, multi-currency group accounting experience across jurisdictions and warehouses.• Demonstrated experience managing and developing direct reports, including delegating meaningful ownership rather than tasks.• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to know which variances matter and the ability to reach defensible conclusions from unstructured or incomplete data.• Advanced Excel, including the ability to interrogate and correct complex inherited workings.• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences and influence operational stakeholders.• Experience of e-commerce and marketplace channel accounting (Shopify, Amazon, Shopee or equivalent) preferred; experience of the first close cycles following an ERP go-live, and of private-equity-backed or acquisitive environments, is advantageous.• Strategic mindset but willing and able to be very hands-on in a scrappy, 'start-up' environment, with a continuous improvement mindset.• Willingness to work across global time zones and outside of normal business hours.• High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion.
