Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - West Region Business Development
About the role
In support of and alignment to growth strategy for the BV Water Solution Business in the West region, create relationships with clients and act as a liaison between the local design team, client, and remote design teams. Lead business development efforts for I&C-related master plans and design projects. Expectation is to produce marketing content specific to each pursuit, negotiate contracts, and lead projects.
Responsibilities
- Create relationships with clients and act as a liaison between the local design team, client, and remote design teams.
- Pursue and lead SCADA Assessments and Master Plans to advise utilities on how best to upgrade or replace existing SCADA systems to support operations and maintenance.
- Manage and coordinate marketing, planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities and industrial water pursuits.
- Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects as well as coordinate I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects.
- Provide local interface by attending client and contractor meetings, performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing, and helping to resolve I&C client and construction issues.
- Maintain and control project schedule and budgets and assist with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities.
Requirements
- 10 years’ experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design consulting
- 4 years’ experience in water/wastewater industry
- 2 years’ experience in project management and business development.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program or equivalent experience in Engineering work.
- Minimum of 11 years related work experience.

- Broad I&C technical knowledge

This position would require working in a typical office environment. The position may entail prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, and the professional would ideally be able to maintain focus and attention to detail throughout the workday. The position may also be require physical tasks during site visits, including crouching, grasping, and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
