Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer - West Region Business Development

About the role

Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor for instrumentation, controls, automation, and SCADA projects supporting water and wastewater clients in the West region.

Lead and deliver I&C planning, design, and SCADA master planning efforts, while supporting business development pursuits and client relationships.

Take ownership of project execution and coordination, guiding multi-discipline teams, managing scope, schedule, and budgets, and representing Black & Veatch with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Create relationships with clients and act as a liaison between the local design team, client, and remote design teams.
• Pursue and lead SCADA Assessments and Master Plans to advise utilities on how best to upgrade or replace existing SCADA systems to support operations and maintenance.
• Manage and coordinate marketing, planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities and industrial water pursuits.
• Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects as well as coordinate I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects.
• Provide local interface by attending client and contractor meetings, performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing, and helping to resolve I&C client and construction issues.
• Maintain and control project schedule and budgets and assist with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities.

Requirements

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program or equivalent experience in Engineering work.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries.

Qualifications

• Broad I&C technical knowledge.
• 10 years’ experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design consulting.
• 4 years’ experience in water/wastewater industry.
• 2 years’ experience in project management and business development.

Pay

$156,299.00 - $308,464.00

Schedule

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
