Senior Instructional Designer

About the role

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our global retail learning team. This role focuses on creating engaging learning experiences for frontline retail teams, supporting onboarding, certification programs, operational readiness, and the Areas of Expertise (AOE) program.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop training solutions for onboarding, certification programs, operational readiness, and AOE programs.
• Create learning pathways, strategy guides, playbooks, activity guides, eLearning courses, and daily execution resources.
• Transform complex information into learner-friendly content, ensuring alignment with adult learning principles.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to gather and incorporate feedback.
• Manage content lifecycles, including translation, localization, and quality assurance workflows.
• Ensure content remains accurate, scalable, and current, adhering to governance standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing learning solutions for retail, frontline, field-based, or customer-facing audiences.
• Strong instructional design expertise, including adult learning principles, curriculum design, and blended learning methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency with presentation and learning authoring tools, such as PowerPoint and Articulate.
• Experience partnering with subject matter experts and business stakeholders to simplify complex topics.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and competing timelines.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying training programs for global audiences.
• Experience supporting localization and translation workflows across multiple geographies and regions.
• Familiarity with retail operations, store leadership, workforce management, customer experience, inventory operations, or visual merchandising.
• Experience with learning platforms and content authoring tools such as Articulate Rise 360, LMS platforms, and mobile learning applications.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted content development tools.
• Background in product education, customer service training, operational training, leadership development, or industry-specific certification programs.
