Senior Industrial Designer, Prime Air Expansion

About the role

Prime Air is seeking an experienced Sr. Industrial Designer to join the Expansion Design team. This role leads building design for Prime Air Drone Delivery facilities, including fulfillment centers, middle mile facilities, and other buildings across Amazon's network. You will own composite drawing packages, construction documents, and permitting processes for ground-up greenfield developments as well as retrofits of existing facilities. The position requires deep industrial design expertise, technical precision, and the ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects with ambiguous parameters while balancing operational efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness.

A successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, collaborating with internal and external teams to generate high-quality, cost-effective design solutions. You will work across multiple projects with varied timelines and influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, engineers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial design for Prime Air Drone Delivery facilities, including fulfillment centers and middle mile facilities
• Own composite drawing packages, construction documents, and permitting processes
• Manage ground-up greenfield development, building shell design, and tenant improvement (TI) projects
• Drive design decisions balancing operational efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, engineers, and vendors
• Work across multiple projects with varied timelines

Requirements

• 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development work experience
• Experience leading engineering design projects and interacting with cross-functional teams
• Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD software

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high-speed manufacturing systems

Pay

Base salary ranges:

• Nashville, TN: $125,500 - $169,800 USD annually
• Bellevue, WA: $132,100 - $178,800 USD annually

Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
