About the role
Amazon Prime Air is revolutionizing delivery through autonomous drone technology, aiming to deliver packages to customers in 30 minutes or less. This role involves leading the pre-construction process for projects, evaluating site feasibility, coordinating design efforts, and ensuring alignment with other business lines.
Responsibilities
- Research and compile all project specifics including site survey, landlord approvals, and permitting requirements in preparation for construction drawings.
- Evaluate site feasibility and secure approvals from other business lines.
- Cook up design efforts with contractors, operations, maintenance teams, and corporate teams to ensure technical and operational expertise is factored into design.
- Lead and review design with regard to quality, schedule, and costs.
- Partner with key operational experts across the company to lead, support, and influence new business initiatives.
- Manage complex projects simultaneously with accelerated timelines across multiple time zones.
- Navigate competing priorities across construction teams, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders while maintaining high visibility to leadership and setting up construction and operations for success.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related experience.
- Experience in Design/Innovation, research & development, manufacturing, process, industrial engineering, or related work.
- Experience in management of engineering design projects.
Qualifications
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing.
- Experience with design-in-safety.
- Experience with process design based on Lean Principles.
Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accelerated timelines across multiple time zones.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to navigate competing priorities across construction teams, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $99,300.00 - $160,000.00 annually.
Schedule
This role requires travel, up to 50% of the time.
Export Control License
This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
