About the role
Vortex Doors offers a dynamic work environment where you'll have the opportunity to install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial door systems. Your days will involve diagnosing and performing routine repairs, setting up and configuring locks and handles, verifying code compliance, and delivering exceptional customer care.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial doors, docks, and related hardware using appropriate tools and methods.
- Diagnose and perform routine repairs on springs, hinges, locks, and electrical components.
- Set up and configure locks, handles, closers, low-voltage integrations, and access control systems.
- Verify code compliance and safety standards on every door you touch.
- Deliver excellent customer care by explaining findings, outlining options, and recommending cost-effective solutions.
- Document work with precise records of service visits, repairs, and installations.
- Quality check all installations and repairs to meet Vortex’s high standards.
Requirements
- 4+ years of door industry experience.
- Strong mechanical and technical abilities.
- Ability to lift and bend continuously, climb ladders up to 20' high, work on knees for extended periods, and operate power tools proficiently.
- Customer-facing aptitude and interpersonal skills to solve issues and communicate clearly in any situation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; able to relay information quickly in a fast-paced environment and be persuasive when needed.
- Detail orientation and commitment to quality; reliable and self-motivated.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfort using hand and power tools effectively.
- Knowledge of various door types, brands, and hardware.
- Basic computer literacy.
Qualifications
- AAADM certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and adherence to protocols.

Pay

Schedule
Full-time shifts between Vortex business hours of 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some overtime and on-call hours.
