About the role

We are seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to lead complex hydrogeologic investigations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading data collection, analysis, and interpretation, as well as developing and overseeing groundwater remediation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex hydrogeologic investigations with a focus on complex geological settings such as fractured rock and coastal plain.
  • Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation, including building conceptual site models, developing high-resolution site characterization strategies, and using modern Remediation Hydrogeology concepts.
  • Implement passive and/or active water treatment systems and assess flow control structures.
  • Develop geospatial and geostatistical analyses, interpret subsurface aquifer conditions, and create hydrographs and graphic presentations of hydrogeologic data.
  • Assess groundwater contaminant plume dynamics and make recommendations for management and remediation.
  • Be viewed as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.
  • Manage junior staff, provide technical review and oversight, and mentor.
  • Create and manage project budgets, schedules, and proposals.
  • Interact with clients and present findings.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Geology, Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or closely related field.
  • Experience conducting hydrogeologic assessments and updating conceptual site models at active, inactive, and abandoned mine sites or projects.
  • Experience implementing passive and/or active water treatment systems.
  • Experience implementing and assessing flow control structures.
  • Familiarity with design, construction, and development of groundwater monitoring wells.
  • Experience with directional drilling into mine workings and fault zone structures.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER, 30-hour OSHA Construction, and MSHA 40-hour Underground Miner training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or closely related field.
  • 10 or more years of analysis, modeling, and design and management experience.
  • Project management skills a plus.

Qualifications

  • Local candidates preferred.

Skills

Preferred qualifications include advanced degree and experience in specialized areas such as mine site assessments, water treatment systems, and flow control structures.
