About the role

As a Senior Hydrogeologist at HDR, you will lead complex hydrogeologic investigations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, focusing on challenging geological settings such as fractured rock and coastal plains. Your responsibilities include overseeing data collection, analysis, and interpretation, developing remediation strategies, and managing client interactions and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex hydrogeologic investigations in complex geological settings
  • Oversee data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation
  • Develop and oversee high-resolution site characterization strategies
  • Use modern Remediation Hydrogeology concepts to develop complex groundwater remediation strategies
  • Collect and analyze field groundwater level and quality data
  • Design, construct, and develop groundwater monitoring wells
  • Create geospatial and geostatistical analyses
  • Interpret subsurface aquifer conditions on a site and regional scale
  • Develop hydrographs and other graphic presentations of hydrogeologic data
  • Assess groundwater contaminant plume dynamics and recommend management and remediation strategies
  • Act as a technical expert with recognized authority in specialized areas
  • Manage junior staff, provide technical review and oversight, and mentor
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and reports
  • Present findings to clients

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Geology, Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, or closely related field
  • Experience conducting hydrogeologic assessments and updating conceptual site models
  • Experience implementing passive and/or active water treatment systems
  • Experience with flow control structures
  • Familiarity with directional drilling into mine workings and fault zone structures
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER, 30-hour OSHA Construction, and MSHA 40-hour Underground Miner training
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or closely related field
  • 10+ years of analysis, modeling, and design experience
  • Project management skills

Preferred qualifications include advanced degree, experience with specific types of assessments and projects, and relevant certifications.
