About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sr HR Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for the daily support of multiple administrative and operational functions. Primary responsibilities will be back up and administrative support to Human Resources department, with additional administrative duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy of employee records
  • Monitor local, state and federal laws and regulations for changes that impact the site
  • Collaborate with HQ HR team to execute changes as needed to stay in compliance
  • Identify areas of improvement within the HR Function and lead projects to implement new processes
  • Lead new employee recruiting and onboarding process
  • Engage in the development of hourly employees through training, coaching, and mentoring plant employees for improved performance
  • Facilitate 30, 60, and 90 day reviews for the hourly operation employees
  • Act as backup for Human Resources Manager, exercising discretion and independent judgment with employee related matters
  • Provide support and resources to employees throughout the leave of absence process
  • Support management staff in accomplishing their business goals by assisting with various reports from the HRIS and analytics tools
  • Perform entries, updates, and status changes of employee information in the HRIS and timekeeping systems
  • Issue and track attendance warnings as required
  • Own the coordination and execution of employee engagement events and special meetings such as volunteer opportunities and celebrating service anniversaries
  • Attend meetings as assigned; take, prepare, and post minutes
  • Provide general HR information to all employees based on established practices and procedures
  • Interface directly with all levels of Management and employees
  • Cook with staffing agencies for placement of temporary employees as needed
  • Afford administrative tasks and management support as needed and assigned
  • Support plant activities such as 5S, LPA’s, Gemba and Safety including participating in audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field of study required
  • 2-4 Years Human Resources experience as an administrator or general support
  • 2+ years experience in a Manufacturing Plant environment is a plus

Qualifications

  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Word)
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently, develop and follow-up on plans, and resolve conflicts effectively
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task, handle multiple projects simultaneously, easily adapt to changing situations
  • Understand and follow all established EHS rules and regulations
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Physical Demands, Environment

  • Frequent exposure to fumes, dust, airborne particles, and extreme heat and humidity
  • Occasional light lifting may be required
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required
