About the role

The Senior Global Sourcing Manager will oversee the sourcing of technology purchases (Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure) on a regional and global scale. Responsibilities include developing and implementing sourcing strategies, working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, security, and legal matters, and preparing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the Software, IT, and Automotive industries and their strategic directions.
  • Work effectively cross-functionally with IT, Business, Engineering, Legal, and Security teams.
  • Develop and manage suppliers based on quality, service, technology, and price negotiations.
  • Manage supplier contracts and ensure compliance with deadlines and lead times.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing, robust terms, and additional items to complete contract packages.
  • Develop and maintain benchmark data to inform sourcing strategies.
  • Exercise strong negotiation skills and assess supplier performance.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including leadership, both verbally and in writing.
  • Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chain sourcing processes to manage sourcing packages.
  • Travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to consider various factors in decision-making.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to create a technology roadmap.
  • Data judgment and ability to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Informative communication skills.
  • Relationship management and development of constructive, cooperative working relationships.
  • Proficiency in negotiation and ability to drive collaborative discussions.
  • SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems.
  • Knowledge of basic software concepts and ability to speak to Legal & Commercial Terms & Conditions.

Qualifications

  • High-level knowledge about Software/technology purchasing.
  • Engineering background with Software purchasing experience is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes.

Skills

  • Proven competence in negotiation skills.
  • Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance.

Compensation details are confidential and will be provided upon successful completion of the hiring process.

Schedule

The role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the selected candidate to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week and travel less than 25% for this role.
