About the role
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior GL Accountant based in the United States. This role sits at the core of a fast-growing finance organization, supporting accurate and scalable financial operations within a high-performance, technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules across multiple general ledger accounts including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, payroll, leases, investments, and intercompany transactions.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by analyzing financial results and ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Perform flux and variance analyses, identifying trends, discrepancies, and actionable insights using data-driven and AI-enabled tools.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Payroll, People Operations, Legal, and other teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information.
- Maintain and improve internal controls while ensuring audit-ready documentation and compliance with US GAAP standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and efficiency enhancements within accounting workflows.
- Support external audits, system implementations, and special finance projects as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role, preferably in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with NetSuite preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large and complex datasets; familiarity with AI-enabled tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, audit-ready financial records.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict month-end close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements.
