Senior Full Stack Engineer (Python/React/Data Platforms)
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and enhance enterprise applications that support critical data governance, remediation, and reporting initiatives within a large banking environment. This is a highly hands-on engineering role requiring expertise across front-end development, backend services, cloud technologies, databases, and modern data platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support enterprise web applications using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Build scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations using Python.
- Design and optimize SQL databases, data models, and reporting solutions.
- Create dashboards, workflow tools, and self-service reporting solutions supporting data governance and remediation initiatives.
- Develop applications that consolidate and present data from multiple enterprise systems.
- Work with modern cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, and Synapse.
- Automate operational processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Partner with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment best practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Ensure applications meet security, scalability, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering or full stack application development.
- Strong experience developing modern web applications using React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Strong backend development experience using Python.
- Advanced SQL skills, including database design, query optimization, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying applications within AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with one or more cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse.
- Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of application architecture, SDLC, testing, and deployment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake and cloud-native data platform development.
- Experience building reporting, analytics, dashboard, or workflow applications.
- Experience developing data-driven applications using Snowflake, Streamlit, or similar technologies.
- Experience within banking, financial services, risk, compliance, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
- Familiarity with Informatica, metadata management, data governance, or enterprise data management solutions.
