Senior Full Stack Developer

Description & Duties

The Senior Full Stack Developer is a highly skilled individual who excels in several areas of focus, including Front-End, Middleware, and Back-End areas of development. This role is crucial in leading the efforts for developing and designing front-end web architectures, which are driven by middleware created to retrieve information from one of the several back-end sources that provide the lifeblood of our business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of front-end web architectures driven by middleware to retrieve information from back-end sources.

• Lead development of software in our technology stack, which is constantly evolving but currently includes JavaScript, GraphQL, Jest, Kafka, MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js), NestJS, Redis, SQL, and TypeScript.

• Help grow the development practice via coding, code reviewing, acting as a technical bridge on the team, and being able to dig into some of the more complex areas of the system when knowledge is lacking in-house.

• Lead team in test-driven development and proper unit testing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

• Maintain knowledge of security best practices in web development to safeguard customer and company data.

• Scour and evaluate new technologies and contribute to the overall product roadmaps of both internal and external 3rd party systems.

• Design performance optimized and scalable web applications.

• Utilize agile methodologies and scrum planning tools like Jira to help the development team meet its sprint goals.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field.

• 5 years of experience in a development role OR combination of education and experience in front end, middleware, or backend development.

• Any technical certifications from Amazon, Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, or in an essential duty mentioned above are a plus.

• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software and Design software.
