About the role

The Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group is seeking a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to support FPGA designs through all phases of development. This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a minimum of Secret Clearance. The role is full-time onsite at a BAE Systems facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in requirements generation and implementation
  • Ownership of RTL coding, synthesis, place and route, and timing closure
  • Basic test bench development
  • Lab testing and debug
  • Product support

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree (less with an advanced degree)
  • Current Security Clearance (Secret) or eligibility to obtain one
  • Experience in FPGA (preferred) or ASIC Design/Development
  • VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding
  • Familiarity with Xilinx Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
  • Digital simulation using Modelsim/Questa
  • Experience with static timing analysis and clock domain crossing techniques
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces like SERDES, PCIe, DDR2/3/4, LVDS
  • Familiarity with revision control (GIT, CVS, Clearcase, Subversion, etc.)
  • Experience generating scripts (Perl, Tcl, Python, shell, etc.)
  • Strong debug and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter and a good team player
  • Willingness to be mentored

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to implement requirements into micro-architecture
  • Experience modifying and enhancing legacy FPGA designs
  • Experience working independently as part of a design team
  • Experience in hardware design and hands-on lab debug
  • Experience working with FPGA design verification teams
  • Experience with data conversion techniques (ADC/DAC)

Pay

Full-Time Salary Range: $97,008 – $164,914. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
