Senior FPGA Design Engineer

About the role

The world's largest aerospace and defense company, RTX, seeks a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join its team in Tucson, AZ. This role involves developing FPGA designs for various vendors and device families, including Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA designs from initial proof of concept to production
• Collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers to define requirements, architecture, and algorithms
• Translate system-level requirements into FPGA-specific requirements
• Code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability
• Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests
• Create comprehensive documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides
• Lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
• Support internal and external technical reviews

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog coding
• Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and associated flow tools
• Experience delivering FPGA/ASIC solutions for system-level applications
• Experience with radar processing techniques, image processing techniques, embedded systems design, and gigabit serial interfaces
