About the role
The world's largest aerospace and defense company, RTX, seeks a Senior FPGA Design Engineer to join its team in Tucson, AZ. This role involves developing FPGA designs for various vendors and device families, including Xilinx, Altera, and Microsemi.
Responsibilities
- Develop FPGA designs from initial proof of concept to production
- Collaborate with circuit card designers and systems engineers to define requirements, architecture, and algorithms
- Translate system-level requirements into FPGA-specific requirements
- Code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability
- Verify designs using directed and constrained random tests
- Create comprehensive documentation including requirements, verification plans, and user guides
- Lead small teams and mentor junior engineers
- Support internal and external technical reviews
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in FPGA/ASIC design and verification
- Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog coding
- Experience with Xilinx or Microsemi devices and associated flow tools
- Experience delivering FPGA/ASIC solutions for system-level applications
- Experience with radar processing techniques, image processing techniques, embedded systems design, and gigabit serial interfaces
