Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Corporate & Central Functions
About the role
The Corporate FP&A team supports Sony Pictures Entertainment's corporate and central functions. The team ensures strong financial discipline and analyses are in place to help functional leaders achieve their goals and objectives. Departments supported include: CFO Corporate Groups, People & Operations, General Counsel Groups, Strategy and Corporate Development, Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing financial budgets, quarterly forecasts, and mid-range plans with a focus on financial analysis and insights.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of budget and forecasting processes to enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly/quarterly financial results presentations, reviewing actual performance against budgets and forecasts and preparing supporting variance analyses.
- Maintain reports and datasets in SAP-based planning solutions.
- Deliver ad hoc financial analyses and modeling to support business needs.
- Engage proactively with partners to support their objectives.
- Communicate effectively with senior operational and financial management through strong presentation, verbal, and written skills.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of FP&A experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience building/enhancing financial models to support forecasting, scenario planning, investment decisions, and business case development.
- Ability to translate complex financial and operational information into clear, concise insights for business leaders and non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience identifying trends, risks, and opportunities through rigorous analysis and developing actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
- Experience with enterprise planning systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, etc.).
- Adaptability to challenge the status quo as a change agent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., index/match, data tables, etc.).
- Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with leveraging AI to drive process automation and improvement.
- An MBA and/or CPA preference.
- Experience in the media and entertainment industry.
Pay
The anticipated base salary for this position is $79,200-$99,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
