About the role
The Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in shaping the financial operations of Verse Medical. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes. You will also contribute to the preparation of financial packages and support the revenue cycle.
Responsibilities
- Own core accounts payable workflows, including invoice review, coding, approvals, vendor coordination, payment support, and accurate department, location, program, and cost-center classification.
- Support accounts receivable and cash activity by reconciling payments, tracking outstanding balances, resolving posting discrepancies, and partnering with billing and revenue cycle teams.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, allocations, fixed asset updates, and balance sheet reconciliations with clear, audit-ready supporting documentation.
- Contribute to a timely month-end close by reviewing financial activity, investigating variances, maintaining accurate general ledger detail, and meeting recurring close deadlines.
- Build and maintain monthly financial package components, including budget-to-actual schedules, income statement support, balance sheet schedules, cash summaries, KPI reporting, and variance explanations.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience, ideally in healthcare, home care, physician practice, behavioral health, senior care, or another healthcare services setting.
- Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial statement preparation, balance sheet account ownership, and financial package preparation.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data cleanup, and financial schedule preparation.
- A high attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to partner with finance, billing, revenue cycle, operations, vendors, and leadership in a fast-moving environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.

- Frameworks: Month-end close, accrual accounting, AP/AR operations, balance sheet reconciliations, internal controls, budget-to-actual analysis, and healthcare revenue cycle workflows.
- Infrastructure: Accounting/ERP systems, AP and payment platforms, revenue cycle or billing systems, banking portals, Excel or Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools.
- Collaboration: Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, Slack or Teams, project management tools, and cross-functional partnership with Operations, Billing, Revenue Cycle, and People teams.
The Rewards & Reality
- Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000 base salary.
