Scope Of Responsibility

  • Develops, interprets, and implements accounting concepts and analysis.
  • Serves as a resource for all business areas concerning financial performance and analysis, inventory, and cost analysis.

Essential Duties

  • Performs month end close procedure, including the production and analysis of monthly financial reports.
  • Prepares comprehensive monthly gross margin report and presents project profitability within product lines.
  • Affords assistance in the development of monthly P&L forecast and annual budgets for utilities segment.
  • Analyzes manufacturing cost on a periodic basis and generates monthly reports comparing actual to forecast and budgets.
  • Assists in the preparation of business unit sales backlog and pipeline.
  • Prepares ROI on CAPEX projects and provides guidance to operations.
  • Collaborates with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintains inventory levels and analyzes inventory turnover rates to optimize inventory management process.
  • Conducts monthly physical inventory cycle counts and ensures accurate inventory reconciliation.
  • Supports annual external audit process by providing documentation and answering auditor inquiries.
  • Performs any other related duties as required and assigned.

Primary Focus

  • Develops and maintains models/reports supporting management and internal customers.
  • Identifies, corrects, and audits risk areas lacking proper standard controls.
  • Recommends cost improvement measures.
  • Inventory controls.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills and the ability to be adaptable and flexible.
  • Ability to work with the finance team and multiple departments.

Position Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 3-5 years’ progressively responsible accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing setting utilizing job cost accounting.
  • Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and finance.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgets, general ledger, financial analysis, cost accounting, financial modeling, written and verbal presentation experience.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) to analyze data and trends.

Physical Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching.
  • Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
