Responsibilities
- Aid in the monthly close process across assigned facilities/entities
- Create journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded, coded, and reconciled
- Support bookkeeping and accounting operations as needed
- Monitor financial activity and follow up on outstanding items
- Offer analytical support to executive leadership and operations teams
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual processes
- Utilize technology, automation, and AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the finance function
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably within Skilled Nursing Facilities, long-term care, or healthcare
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial statements
- Experience with month-end close and reconciliations
- Strong Excel and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and problem-solving abilities
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or CPA candidate preferred, but not required
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement or cost reports
- Familiarity with healthcare accounting systems and ERP platforms
- Interest in process improvement, automation, and AI-driven finance tools
