Senior Financial Analyst
General Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst provides analytical support for the Finance Department. This responsibility includes analysis for past/historical financial data to spot trends to assess risks. Perform financial forecast, reconciliation of internal accounts to assess strategic decision alternatives. Perform the monthly profit and loss closing process. Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP. Prepare financial related analysis and research in areas such as financial and cost saving performance measures. Provide important business information analysis and support ad-hoc reports as directed by management. Support creation of materials for various management reviews and meetings. Participate in annual budget process and cost saving activities in cooperation with each unit.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares profitability and statistical analyses at various levels, for various time periods (monthly and YTD).
- Develops, maintains, and utilizes data sets required to support key reporting activities; conducts support for monthly close/quarterly reviews by providing key analytics to Controller/Insight Leadership.
- Support Budget reviews and Cost Savings initiatives through producing key analytics to support decision making.
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned, including advanced ad hoc reports as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics.
- Three years of experience working as a financial analyst or senior level accountant.
- Ability to work with large datasets.
- Good analysis, problem solving and solutioning skills required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required.
- Great team player and organized.
- Proven efficiency in excel, word, MS Office
