Senior Financial Analyst
About the role
Join Havertys as a Senior Financial Analyst, reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis. In this role, you will support and interact with key business leaders by providing financial modeling, analysis, reporting, and presentation support that enables data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Develop analyses that offer insights to enable data-driven decision-making by leaders.
- Refined, designed, and constructed financial models, reports, and presentations to aid in internal planning and budgeting processes.
- Prepare monthly and annual executive reviews of the budget and forecast, including detailed variance, bridge, trend, run-rate, and one-time event analysis.
- Recommend, develop, and implement actionable, repeatable analytic reporting that interprets financial performance and business trends.
- Support the annual budget and monthly forecast process with detailed analytics, financial recommendations, and ad hoc reporting.
- Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional leaders to support organizational goals and strengthen financial planning disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; master’s degree is a plus but not required.
- 5–7 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, or financial planning and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
- A self-managed approach to progress and deliverables with a high degree of accountability and urgency.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, strategic mindset, attention to detail, and professional communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to present financial information to Executive Management and the Board of Directors.
- Experience with IBM Planning Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, or Infor CloudSuite Financials is a plus.
Qualifications

Work Environment
The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods and frequent use of a computer and phone, visual acuity to review financial data on screens and printed materials, proficiency to operate keyboards, mice, and other computer accessories, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. This role supports internal planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis needs.
