Senior Financial Analyst , Amazon Logistics
About the role
Amazon seeks a detail-oriented Financial Analyst II to join our NA AMZL finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for financial planning 1–3 years out, executing the month-end close process, and leading entitlement projects that drive overall cost to serve down for our customers. This hands-on position requires excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills as you’ll work across operations and support teams to influence strategic decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, learns quickly, and can translate complex financial data into actionable insights that support operational excellence and business growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial plans with a 1–3 year outlook, providing data-driven insights that help shape the trajectory of AMZL Canada operations
- Execute month-end close processes with attention to detail, ensuring accurate financial reporting and proactively identifying discrepancies
- Lead entitlement projects by analyzing data, identifying improvement opportunities, and partnering with operations teams to implement solutions
- Report on daily and weekly performance metrics, transforming data into actionable insights for operational leaders
- Influence key stakeholders by communicating financial implications of business decisions, serving as a strategic partner to operations teams to improve execution

Our team is small but mighty, responsible for managing all NA AMZL/RSR costs for under-the-roof expenses. We work as strategic partners to operations, providing financial guidance that drives business performance. Each team member plays a crucial role in supporting Amazon’s last mile delivery network in North America, helping to scale operations efficiently while maintaining financial discipline. Basic qualifications
- 4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes
- 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy
- 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred qualifications
- 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
- MBA or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
