Senior Financial Aid Advisor

About the role

Come care with us at West Coast University where you will meet with students and prospective students to provide information on financial aid and options that can help them develop a financial plan for achieving their healthcare career goals. You will also apply your technical financial aid skills to ensure proper eligibility and processing in accordance with federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations. This position allows you to be part of a student’s educational journey at an institution with over 110 years in education, recognized as a “Great Place to Work.”

Responsibilities

• Meet with students and prospective students to provide information regarding costs of attendance, available financial aid options, and student loan counseling.
• Review documentation, forms, and other information provided by students to ensure accuracy and completeness; update electronic student files appropriately and scan documents into Image Now.
• Review student records to resolve any discrepant or conflicting information and document resolutions.
• Review ISIR data to ensure c‑codes are appropriately resolved, request required verification items, and document actions or resolutions in the student electronic file.
• Assist students and parents with directions for requesting FSA User IDs and completing FAFSAs, MPNs, and online student loan entrance and exit counseling.
• Provide in‑person student loan counseling for those unable to complete online counseling.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Financial Aid.
• Demonstrated highest levels of integrity and professional ethics.
• Excellent communication skills, including active listening and clear delivery of information.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Experienced candidates will be considered without a degree if they have more than 6 years of financial aid experience.

Licenses/Certifications

Applicants may not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment on a federal grant.
