$115,440 - $186,160 USD

About the Role

The Senior Finance Manager provides strategic Finance advice, analysis, and support for key business areas or portfolios. This role proactively manages senior relationships to deliver deep business insights, decision support, and guidance while collaborating closely with stakeholders and team members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a bank expert for a Finance function, discipline, portfolio, or journey
  • Leading or conducting expert financial analysis, research, reviews, or audits to support functional goals
  • Addressing highly complex financial management, specialized accounting, taxation, audit, regulatory reporting, and operational issues
  • Acting as the primary interface with Finance partners, leaders, and external parties
  • Providing expert advice to senior management and potentially leading teams of specialists
  • Advising on execution strategy and developing functional programs or initiatives
  • Solving unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact, overseeing standards, risk-based controls, and operating methods
  • Driving innovative solutions to complex challenges

Responsibilities

Customer Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with business partners to understand objectives and contribute to strategic direction
  • Formulate data analysis using visualization tools, profiling, segmentation, and advanced modeling
  • Interpret complex business issues, generate insights, and identify growth opportunities
  • Communicate recommendations on finance management or operational processes to all organizational levels
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for the supported LOB Finance area
  • Develop key business performance measures and share benchmark/best practice information
  • Maximize shareholder value through strategic analysis and decision support
  • Leverage advanced data and analytics to provide comprehensive information for strategic decisions
  • Develop or assess business cases for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with criteria (e.g., taxation, accounting practices, forecasted returns)
  • Support the development of business, financial, operational, or organizational strategy
  • Ensure alignment between business segment and enterprise goals
  • Provide strategic insights and propose solutions for risk-adjusted profitability
  • Create "story-telling" presentations on business performance (e.g., competitive analysis)
  • Drive initiatives critical to delivering strategy and implement growth strategies
  • Partner with the business to develop financial plans and forecasts

Shareholder Accountabilities

  • Act as a respectful "challenger" to provide alternative viewpoints
  • Lead the development or implementation of new financial models, standards, methodologies, or frameworks
  • Synthesize complex information into actionable insights and strategy
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance as a custodian of cost
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks and ensure compliance with internal/external requirements
  • Manage programs, policies, and practices to meet business needs and priorities
  • Maintain confidentiality and escalate issues appropriately
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls, segregation of duties, and transaction approvals
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives as a subject matter expert
  • Conduct internal and external research and support management communications
  • Analyze functional or enterprise-level data to assess program effectiveness
  • Monitor service, productivity, and efficiency, implementing improvements as needed
  • Identify and recommend remediation plans for performance, risk, or governance issues
  • Manage relationships across business lines and corporate functions
  • Stay abreast of emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain a culture of risk-based management and control

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 10+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Financial designation preferred

Skills

  • Effective communication with executive-level stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret large data sets and transform them into clear communications
