Senior Field Service Technician

About the role

Xylem is seeking an experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our team at the Salt Lake City Utah service center. The role involves supporting the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of Godwin diesel pump systems while working alongside a skilled service team.

Responsibilities

• Support the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and rebuilding of Godwin diesel pump systems
• Work alongside a skilled service team
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, diesel, and electrical issues
• Provide your own specialty tools

Requirements

• Strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance
• Three (3) or more years of diesel engine experience preferred
• Experience with Caterpillar and John Deere diesel engines preferred
• Familiarity with Godwin diesel pump engines (such as 6068, 6090, and 4045 series) is a plus
• Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to complete a background check, drug screening, MVR review, and DOT physical

Skills

• Working knowledge of tools, materials, and repair techniques used on diesel-powered equipment

Pay

• Competitive compensation

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 AM–4:00/5:00 PM
• Occasional weekend work as needed
