Senior Executive Underwriter, Excess Casualty, National Accounts
About the role
Join us as a Senior Executive Underwriter to play your part in reimagining how we help customers to manage risk. You'll be part of Underwriting AIG underwriting teams, which cover areas such as Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership for achieving goals and outcomes.
- Oversee a range of programs and processes, including handling complex underwriting.
- Successfully balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and make sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, judgment, and a risk mindset.
- Build effective relationships with brokers and deliver high standards of customer service.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and learning while mentoring and developing colleagues through effective leadership, role modeling, and training programs.
- Facilitate personal growth and career development, supporting succession planning.
- Play a key role in new business development, including attending broker events and building new relationships across the market.
Requirements
- Proven underwriting experience in Excess Casualty and a successful record of selling Environmental, Excess or Primary Casualty, NA Auto, WC, AL, GL, DBA, Foreign Casualty products to clients.
- Deep technical expertise.
- Proven people management skills and a record of developing more junior colleagues.
- The ability to analyze financial statements.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Customer and sales-orientated behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
