About the role

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Engineering Support Specialist supporting the Nosis and STRMS Programs. This position provides an opportunity to advance cutting-edge technology that supports the knowledge, training, qualification, and proficiency of our nation’s core defense and intelligence services and systems.

You’ll work closely with esteemed fleet and government customers to develop solutions for high-stakes national security missions worldwide. In our collaborative and global environment, you’ll provide lab, onboard, and distance support using cloud technologies, directly assisting fleet customers and our field support team.

Responsibilities

• Perform research, data transfers, troubleshooting, installations, and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, fielding, troubleshooting, and repairing of Nosis and Nosis Cloud software, devices, systems, and third-party applications.
• Perform technical activities impacting proposal, system-level design, detail design, and manufacture of advanced software and cloud services systems.
• Provide technical support in a shipboard Information Technology Customer support capacity.
• Load and update software applications as required.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Some travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent combination of education and 4 years of relevant work experience, plus an additional 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree.
• Linux experience.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must be able to complete all requirements for DoD 8570 Certification within 6 months.
• Must have strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, with minimal supervision, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

• Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field with developing knowledge in adjacent areas.
• Proficient understanding and application of engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
• Linux Server Administration experience.
• Linux+ Certification or equivalent training and experience.
• Cloud Computing, Support, or Administration experience.
• Kubernetes, Docker, or Podman experience (a plus).
• VMware or Hyper-V experience (a plus).
• Oracle and MSSQL Database operation and maintenance.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
• AWS Credentials or similar experience.
• Experience with VBScript, JavaScript, Windows Scripting, WBEM, .NET, or JBOSS.
• Use, administration, and maintenance of Nosis or STRMS Software Suites.
• Microsoft Windows Server 2008 or higher experience (a plus).

Pay

Target salary range: USD $86,116.00/Yr. – USD $95,534.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range based on experience and geographic location.

Schedule

This position is fully on-site or Flex. While on-site, you will work at either the Groton, CT or Manassas, VA facility.
