About the role

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role at Carrier, based in East Syracuse, NY, is a hands-on, high-impact position supporting the development and deployment of advanced heat transfer technologies for Carrier’s global product portfolio. This role plays a critical part in fast prototyping and proof-of-concept activities, combining laboratory work with engineering analysis and Model-Based Design to accelerate innovation from concept to production.

Role Responsibilities

• Support Fast Prototyping activities for Proof-of-Concept testing of new technology in Heat Transfer systems, both hands-on in our labs and with Engineering analysis work including Model Base Design (MBD).
• Help identify areas of opportunity to improve designs, cost, products and manufacturing systems and execute improvements.
• Support/validate fabrication approaches and evaluate Value Proposition to develop sustainable and cost-effective fabrication technologies.
• Act as the liaison between the Mech Center of Excellence in Syracuse and the local production and manufacturing locations over the world to better support new product introductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 2+ years combined hands-on work experience in fabrication/manufacturing processes (specifically sheet metal/bulk forming, machining, welding/brazing, assembly, process costing).
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of the time for short periods in support of the global projects.

• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
