Senior Engineer, Mechanical

Responsibilities
- Lead and perform engineering evaluations, analyses, field inspections, design drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Lead mechanical engineering analyses for existing and new building mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, applying current codes, standards, and technologies to develop safe, efficient, and optimized designs.
- Manage the mechanical scope of projects from initial design through construction, ensuring quality, schedule, and client expectations are met.
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineering staff, providing guidance, coaching, and support in their professional development.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of New York State Mechanical, Energy, and Plumbing Codes, as well as NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
Experience, Education, And Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of post-college engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in chilled and hot water systems, building HVAC systems, controls, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
- Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for schools, healthcare facilities, and municipal facilities is preferred.

Work Environment
A professional office environment with opportunities for collaboration across disciplines. Travel to project sites throughout New York State may be required approximately 10% of the time. Physical demands include the ability to work for extended periods at a computer, lift and carry materials weighing up to 15 pounds, and travel to project sites as needed.

Salary Description
The good faith salary range is $115,000 - $155,000, with the salary package being commensurate with experience.
