Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with assigned OEMs and work independently to deliver optimized application/installation/integration designs of Allison products, meeting end-user customer expectations for performance, quality/reliability, and feature content.
  • Provide product installation/integration training to OEM engineering teams.
  • Facilitate the transfer of specifications, change requests, roll-out plans, and software tools between OEM and Allison.
  • Ensure alignment to Allison Tech Data and upon deviation, place appropriate systems to protect Allison transmission.
  • Diagnose and solve vehicle/transmission/system issues at OEM engineering and manufacturing facilities.
  • Aid in transmission product development as it pertains to vehicle and engine integration.
  • Work independently with OEM Account Manager/Director and engineering peers to drive Allison's interests within customer requests/activities.
  • Chair and/or attend customer meetings as ATI’s engineering representative.
  • Translate OEM requests for new/modified Allison feature content into actionable request for PLT's.
  • Interact with the customer’s various engineering organizations to provide feedback on ways to improve the ATI products in customer vehicles.

Key Performance Measures

  • Optimized Allison product installation/integration at assigned OEMs, no installation/integration related issues in the field.
  • No unforeseen delays/interruptions in availability of Allison product releases at assigned OEMs due to engineering (including PLT) issues or regulatory issues at assigned OEMs.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot powertrain technical issues and resolve (either with or without support from SME’s).
  • Thorough and organized documentation.

Experience & Qualifications

  • BSME, BSEE, or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of engineering and technical experience.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Ability to communicate and influence (oral & written) technical issues to varied audiences (engineering, marketing, & leadership discussions).
  • Independent achievement of results, setting challenging goals, prioritizing tasks, providing leadership/motivation.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Commitment to efficiency and improvement.

Preferred

  • High level of knowledge of commercial vehicles and their systems.
  • Transmission Control Systems, Powertrain systems, Driveline systems, Cooling systems, Electrical systems, On Board Diagnostics understanding, Regulatory (GHG, etc.) understanding, Mechanical proficiency and background knowledge of Allison Transmission products.
  • Knowledge of Allison Business System and engineering processes to support Allison initiatives with their OEM and provide guidance to PE and CIE peers.
