Senior Engineer - Construction Engineering
Walter P Moore has an immediate opening for a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic Construction Engineering team, serving clients on major projects throughout the United States and internationally.
About the role
The qualified candidate will have at least 6+ years’ relevant experience in steel design, steel connection design, and erection sequencing analysis. We seek a high-energy, self-motivated senior engineer who thrives in a collaborative team environment and demonstrates technical specialization, proactivity, and a strong “can-do” customer-service attitude. Clients include architects, developers, institutions, and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Perform steel design and steel connection design
- Conduct erection sequencing analysis
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Engage proactively with clients to meet project needs
- Utilize SAP 2000 for modeling tasks
- Leverage Tekla and Building Information Modeling (BIM) where applicable
Requirements
- 6–9 years’ experience in steel design, steel connection design, and erection sequencing analysis
- Demonstrated career growth with supervisory experience
- Master’s in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural strongly preferred
- P.E. license in your residing state, or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months
- Proactive mindset with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Client-service orientation
