Position Overview
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain market data applications and services that process feeds from Bloomberg BPIPE, Data License, and Bloomberg Backoffice systems.
- Design and implement solutions for storing, retrieving, organizing, and distributing large financial data sets efficiently and reliably.
- Build robust software architecture spanning front-end user interfaces, backend services, and DevOps infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with trading teams and portfolio managers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that support trading operations.
- Participate in application maintenance, monitoring, and support activities to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Contribute to the evolution of our data architecture to handle growing data volumes and new market data sources.
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate market data solutions with existing trading systems and workflows.
- Document technical designs and maintain code quality standards through code reviews and testing practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 5 - 7+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Solid understanding of software architecture principles and experience designing scalable, maintainable applications.
- Experience working with large data sets, including data storage, retrieval, and processing techniques.
- Knowledge of multiple database technologies and data modeling concepts.
- Understanding of DevOps practices, including application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with market data systems, financial data feeds, or trading applications.
- Familiarity with JavaScript and Angular framework for front-end development.
- Experience with Apache Kafka or similar messaging/streaming platforms.
- Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal, APIs, or data products.
- Understanding of financial markets and trading concepts.
- Experience with containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of time-series databases and real-time data processing.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and location. This range reflects the expected base salary range for candidates based in New York, New York; compensation for candidates in other locations may vary.
