About the role
A global financial services organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise software and proprietary APIs used within trading technology environments. This role combines hands-on development, API design, technical client support, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications and APIs.
- Build and support SDKs/APIs for multiple programming languages and Windows/Linux platforms.
- Partner with architects, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to external clients integrating with proprietary APIs.
- Participate in architecture, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Strong development experience with C#, Java, or C++.
- Experience developing applications on Windows and Linux.
- Experience with Visual Studio, Oracle, MongoDB, and messaging technologies such as Solace, RabbitMQ, or Kafka.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, REST APIs, secure coding practices, and Agile development.
- Experience with Jira, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support technical clients and API consumers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Python, microservices, AWS, Docker, or containerized applications.
- Knowledge of automated testing (TDD/BDD), low-latency systems, and performance optimization.
- Experience with capital markets, trading systems, or financial services.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot, Kiro, or similar.
Pay
$136,000–$175,000 annually. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
