About the role

The Senior Electrical Lead Engineer plays a key leadership role in shaping and driving the success of the electrical discipline within the office and region. You will guide technical excellence, mentorship, and project execution across a diverse portfolio, including healthcare, education, and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the electrical discipline within the office and region.
  • Mentor and develop department staff, fostering career growth through structured development plans.
  • Be a local supervisor to staff. Ensure adherence to firm QA/QC protocols and maintain technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, scheduling, and staff management.
  • Oversee, plan, and design electrical systems for all types of projects including but not limited to: healthcare, education, laboratories, institutional high-rise and commercial buildings.
  • Act as the Engineer of Record, leading technical communication with clients.
  • Play an integral role in regional leadership, contributing to strategic initiatives and organizing discipline meetings.
  • Work with internal and external team members including architects, consultants, code officials and contractors.
  • Manage regional staff workload effectively, leveraging local leadership.
  • Oversee recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a strong engineering team.
  • Support and refine Glumac’s technical standards, implementing best practices in the local office.
  • Provide feedback on technical standards implementation and suggest improvements.
  • Track training opportunities and recommend professional development initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical advisor for any claims or challenges requiring engineering expertise in the region.
  • Be able to lead and effectively manage a group of electrical engineers within the office.
  • Assist in marketing and development of new and existing Clientele.
  • Ability to write proposals for new projects.
  • Participate in activities and organizations related to our industry, develop peer relationships, technical growth and business contacts.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an MEP Engineer in infrastructure and/or building systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
  • Working experience with building and electrical codes.
  • Experience managing staff as a direct supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Revit experience.
  • Strong background in sustainable design is highly desirable.
  • LEED AP BD+C accreditation.
  • WELL certification.

Pay

$150,000 - $200,000 (depending on experience)

Schedule

This position offers a hybrid work environment, with a requirement of two in-office days per week in our Austin, Texas office.
