Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, advanced manufacturing plants, and other high-reliability environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in power distribution, emergency systems, grounding, and redundancy strategies essential for 24/7 operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design process for mission-critical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Develop power distribution, grounding, UPS, emergency power, and redundancy strategies for data centers and other high-availability environments.
- Perform short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies to optimize electrical system reliability and safety.
- Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project design.
- Work with construction teams to ensure seamless execution, providing field support and resolving technical challenges.
- Manage client relationships, presenting technical solutions and ensuring alignment with operational goals.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the mission-critical industry, incorporating innovative solutions into projects.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET institution required.
- 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering, with at least 3 years focused on mission-critical projects (data centers, high-tech manufacturing, etc.).
- PE License is required to seal engineering documents, with the ability to attain licenses in multiple states.
- Proficiency in power system design, redundancy planning, and energy efficiency strategies for high-reliability facilities.
- Expertise in software tools such as SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, or EasyPower for power analysis.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Experience working in a design-build or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
