About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer / Lighting Designer to combine technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills in designing innovative electrical and lighting systems that enhance the built environment. In this role, you will shape design direction, mentor emerging engineers, and ensure technical excellence across every phase of project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and lighting design projects from concept through construction.
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, and life-safety systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Provide technical leadership and quality oversight across project teams.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and consultants to support integrated design solutions.
- Build strong client relationships and support business development efforts.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering technical and professional growth.
- Evaluate existing buildings and develop creative, energy-efficient renovation solutions.
- Ensure code compliance and design excellence, including NEC, IES, NFPA, and energy codes.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing electrical and lighting systems for commercial and institutional projects.
- Architectural Engineering or Electrical Engineering degree (ABET-accredited).
- Experience managing projects and leading design teams.
- Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficient in Revit.
- PE licensure.
