Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer

About the role

IMEG is a leading design consulting firm with over 2500 employees across the United States. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our Minneapolis, MN office. This role involves providing leadership, mentoring, and training for less experienced staff, managing projects, and delivering high-quality electrical systems in buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for electrical systems, analyzing and creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients.
• Manage project budgets, assist in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity, including proposal generation, contract reviews, and client interactions.
• Train, mentor, and motivate staff, ensuring adherence to IMEG quality control processes and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
• 7+ years of experience in the building design consulting industry.

Qualifications

• Adept in technical aspects of electrical engineering, including circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as Master Specification editing and Adobe/Bluebeam Revu.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate in both oral and written forms.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, prioritize safety, and identify and mitigate potential safety risks.

Skills

• Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference materials like NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and FGI.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Pay

$112,000 - $170,000 per year, with individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Schedule

Regular office hours with occasional travel and overnight stays.
