About the role
IMEG is a leading design consulting firm with over 2500 employees across the United States. We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer to join our Minneapolis, MN office. This role involves providing leadership, mentoring, and training for less experienced staff, managing projects, and delivering high-quality electrical systems in buildings.
Responsibilities
- Lead design efforts for electrical systems, analyzing and creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
- Work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients.
- Manage project budgets, assist in training and mentoring efforts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
- Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity, including proposal generation, contract reviews, and client interactions.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff, ensuring adherence to IMEG quality control processes and industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
- 7+ years of experience in the building design consulting industry.
Qualifications
- Adept in technical aspects of electrical engineering, including circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics.
- Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as Master Specification editing and Adobe/Bluebeam Revu.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to clearly communicate in both oral and written forms.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, prioritize safety, and identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
Skills
- Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards and reference materials like NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and FGI.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays.

Pay
$112,000 - $170,000 per year, with individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Schedule
Regular office hours with occasional travel and overnight stays.
