Senior Electrical Engineer/Designer
About the role
We design the systems behind the multifamily and mixed-use buildings shaping growing cities, skylines, and neighborhoods- everything from mid-rise and high-rise mixed-use towers to garden-style communities, including podium and garage-wrap construction.
Responsibilities
- Design lighting, electrical distribution, fire alarm, and standby generator systems for new construction and renovations
- Produce clear, coordinated documentation for new building and remodel construction design
- Develop design documents including plans, risers/single-lines, schedules, details, and wiring diagrams
- Prepare working drawings, wiring connection specifications, and cross-sections of underground cables as required
- Support code/compliance and performance documentation where applicable (COMcheck, REScheck, FlaCom)
- Use or support relevant design and analysis tools such as Visual, AGi32, and SKM Power Tools, as applicable
- Review designs and support specification editing to maintain quality and consistency across electrical deliverables
- Coverage electrical design with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams in a real-time Revit/BIM workflow
- Support construction administration including submittal reviews, RFI responses, site visits, and field reports
- Support coordination discussions with Owners, Contractors, Architects, and Code Authorities with a working understanding of cross-discipline requirements
- Mentor and support the development of designers and early-career engineers through plan reviews, guidance, and knowledge-sharing
- Help maintain quality and consistency across electrical deliverables, including coordination checks and documentation standards
Requirements
- Strong working proficiency in Revit (electrical design within a BIM workflow)
- Solid understanding of electrical design fundamentals, applicable codes, and constructability considerations
- Experience leading electrical design for multi-discipline building projects and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related engineering discipline)
Preferred
- 10+ years of electrical building systems design experience (consulting engineering preferred)
- EIT or P.E. license (or clear path toward licensure)
- Familiarity with COMcheck, REScheck, FlaCom, Visual, AGi32, and SKM Power Tools
