About the role

The EDI Specialist will play a key role in ensuring seamless data exchange across ThrivePass products, vendors, carriers, and benefits partners. This role begins as a 90-day contract engagement, with the potential to convert to a full-time employee.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a pipeline of 30+ EDI integration projects while meeting SLAs.
  • Work directly with carriers, TPAs, COBRA administrators, and vendor partners to define requirements, coordinate testing, and ensure production readiness.
  • Analyze, document, test, and maintain EDI file processes across systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to existing integrations and production environments.
  • Build and configure file automation processes using internal tools and middleware.
  • Partner with engineering teams to implement new automations and SFTP exchanges.
  • Maintain production processes, manage files, and oversee the full EDI lifecycle.
  • Identify trends, recommend improvements, and create process documentation.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex integration and enrollment issues.
  • Independently manage stakeholder, carrier, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and independence.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with EDI formats (Fixed Width, XML, JSON, etc.).
  • 2+ years of direct experience working with ANSI X12 834 files (critical for success).
  • Experience working directly with carriers, TPAs, COBRA administrators, and vendor partners.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration programs (COBRA, CDH, HSA, HRA, FSA, or similar platforms).
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent implementations.

Qualifications

  • Nice to have: Knowledge of HSA, HRA, FSA, and COBRA structures and processes.
  • Experience building or supporting file automation and integrations.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tools, systems, and environments.
  • Experience handling sensitive data with confidentiality.

Skills

  • Hands-on experience with EDI formats (Fixed Width, XML, JSON, etc.).
  • Direct experience with ANSI X12 834 files.
  • Experience working directly with carriers, TPAs, COBRA administrators, and vendor partners.
  • Experience supporting benefits administration programs (COBRA, CDH, HSA, HRA, FSA, or similar platforms).
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent implementations.
