About the role

Leidos is seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer in the Framingham, MA area. The role involves leading the development of electrical distribution work packages, performing engineering design and analysis, and interacting directly with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages
  • Perform engineering design and analysis
  • Potentially work on programmatic/ capital/ reliability design (e.g., 3rd party attachment, Make Ready, overloaded transformers, reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc.)
  • Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team
  • Review engineering design packages with clients
  • Review and organize existing program work
  • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence
  • Advocate client priorities
  • Interact directly with clients on a frequent, as-needed basis
  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met
  • Cook up conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements
  • Aid in work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
  • Comfortable in both a field and office setting; the role could possibly require some customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant experience working electric distribution projects in a consulting environment for electric utilities or working directly at an electric utility
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial) from an ABET accredited institution; Additional relevant experience can be considered in lieu of engineering-specific bachelor's degree
  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
  • Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysis
  • Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this job level is $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
