Senior Director, Technical Program Management -AI/ML (Remote Eligible)

In this role, you will lead the development of the next-generation Generative AI platform and tools as the backbone of the company’s AI Information strategy. You will also work to expand the TPM discipline within the team, teaching the organization what a great TPM can achieve.
Responsibilities
- Lead technology focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisions
- Work with senior leadership to define and execute on the technical vision for the AI Information platform
- Build and lead a world-class team of technical program managers
- Collaborate with large cross-functional teams to secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
- Design and build data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
- Build distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture, preferably using AWS
- Manage and oversee large and complex programs where you own the business or technical vision
- Ensure systems and solutions are built within a highly regulated environment
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
Requirements
- Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycle
- Experience building and leading a world-class team of technical program managers
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
- A quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinker
- Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
- Experience in building large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impact
- Deep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results
- Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners
- At least 9 years of experience in technical program management
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)
- AI/ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open source contributions, or patents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 9+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing
- 5+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture. Preferably using AWS
- 5+ years experience building on high-scale, low-latency data platforms
- 5+ years of experience with Agile delivery
- Experience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environment
- AI/ML industry impact through conference presentations, papers, blog posts, open source contributions, or patents

Pay
The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
