Senior Director, Strategy
About the role
Warby Parker is on the lookout for a Senior Director of Strategy to help shape the future of vision care by driving our long-term growth initiatives and corporate priorities. In this role, you'll serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, translating deep market insights and complex business challenges into clear, actionable strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of strategists, fostering a culture of rigorous analysis and continuous learning while evolving the team's operating model to ensure insights flow seamlessly into executive decision-making
- Systematically scan the horizon to identify and unlock new market opportunities, including potential new business lines, product categories, and geographic expansions
- Translate complex research and market data into crisp, compelling narratives and strategic frameworks for Executive and Board-level discussions
- Lead the annual and long-range strategic planning process, turning our bold company vision into a clear, actionable roadmap that guides the entire organization
- Track the execution of the strategic plan and key performance indicators (KPIs), acting as the central hub of accountability and proactively recommending adjustments to stay on course
- Partner with the Consumer Insights team, tasked with deep-dive market research, competitor intelligence, and user experience research, to provide the actionable insights that will shape our most critical strategic decisions
- Partner cross-functionally with leaders across the organization to bridge the gap between high-level strategy and operational execution, ensuring our most important initiatives are set up for success
- Proactively identify and evaluate inorganic growth initiatives, including potential M&A, strategic partnerships, and business cases that align with our long-term vision and customer needs
Qualifications
Backed by 11+ years of professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or corporate development
A strategic visionary who can connect disparate dots into a coherent view of long-term value creation
A seasoned communicator and storyteller who can influence senior stakeholders through structured thinking and clear, empathetic communication
A proactive leader who thrives in ambiguity, balancing a high-level strategic mindset with a willingness to dive into the details of execution
An expert at people development, with a proven track record of building high-performing teams and helping others navigate complex business landscapes
Not on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
Skills
Prior experience in venture capital, private equity, or luxury and retail industries is a plus
Familiarity with strategic foresight methodologies and applying future-oriented thinking to high-growth environments is also desirable

Warby Parker offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a competitive base salary/hourly rate and variable compensation for eligible employees. Final compensation is thoughtfully determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and relevant market data.
