Senior Director, Strategy
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction on new business RFPs and key client initiatives, defining how brands show up in culture through creators and content with insight-led, differentiated approaches.
- Set strategic standards and direction across high-impact client initiatives and new business, ensuring work is insight-led, differentiated, and commercially grounded.
- Interrogate briefs to uncover the core challenge, clarify objectives, and establish the strategic foundation for creative, influencer, and performance-driven work.
- Apply strong commercial judgment, connecting creator strategy to brand goals, performance metrics, and ROI, translating customer insights into compelling content strategies.
- Own the development of audience, cultural, creator and communications strategies that inform campaign architecture, content planning, channel roles and measurement approaches.
- Partner with senior leadership and new business teams to shape proposals and strategic approaches for priority opportunities, ensuring clear vision and alignment.
- Provide clarity and direction in moments of ambiguity, guiding teams and clients toward confident, aligned decisions grounded in data and strategic insight.
- Lead the development and oversight of Strategy team members, setting expectations for strategic quality and consistency across all deliverables.
- Operate as a senior individual contributor on the agency's most complex or high-stakes initiatives, while guiding team members on standard workstreams and strategic craft.
- Coach junior team members on judgment, leadership presence, and strategic craft, strengthening the overall capability of the Strategy function.
- Lead the rollout, adoption and continuous improvement of Strategy tools, frameworks and processes, helping scale strategic excellence and consistency across the organization.
- Help evolve and operationalize Creo's creator-led strategic methodologies across influencer casting, content architecture, distribution and performance optimization.
- Develop approaches that leverage creators as strategic partners and co-creators, ensuring creator insight informs both strategy development and execution.
- Translate emerging trends, audience behaviors, and platform shifts into practical implications for client strategy and creative work.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic planning, preferably within the media or advertising industry.
- Proven track record of leading and managing high-performing teams.
- Experience in creating and executing successful influencer campaigns and understanding the nuances of the influencer marketing space.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with digital platforms and social media analytics tools.
Benefits
Illinois, New York: $120,000.00 - $230,000.00
