Senior Director School Operations, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD
About the role
You will maintain that standard throughout the Northeast region: Manhattan serving as your base campus, supplemented by routine travel to schools in CT, MA, and PA. Your efforts determine whether a campus consistently delivers a premium experience or slowly deteriorates between leadership visits.
Responsibilities
Performing scheduled on-site inspections across Northeast campuses using documented standards for cleanliness, HVAC functionality, safety protocols, security systems, signage, landscaping, furniture condition, and tour-readiness — and converting findings into confirmed remedial actions
Responding to facilities issues and emergencies, coordinating vendor response, and closing work orders only after verifying resolution (urgent issues within 24 hours, standard requests within one week)
Overseeing local vendor compliance with service-level agreements, removing consistently underperforming vendors, renegotiating contract terms, and conducting direct accountability discussions regarding quality and costs
Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure all campuses follow standardized procedures rather than improvised solutions
Overseeing significant campus improvement projects (HVAC system upgrades, interior redesigns, landscaping enhancements, AV/network installations) within timeline and budget parameters, minimizing student disruption
Documenting enterprise-wide standards and AI-supported procurement protocols (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance systems, and centralized vendor sourcing) to ensure uniform campus launches and operations
Delivering concise weekly written reports covering regional quality metrics, vendor performance data, escalation summaries, and capital expenditure tracking
Requirements
Located in New York City or within commuting range, prepared to work primarily from the Manhattan campus with 20–40% regional travel
Authorized to work legally in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
5+ years managing multi-site facilities, regional operations, hospitality operations, retail operations, or school operations
Documented success holding vendor-managed services accountable for quality standards, cost control, and SLA compliance across multiple sites
Hands-on experience addressing urgent facilities problems (safety hazards, HVAC failures, security breaches, cleanliness issues) with quantifiable customer-experience outcomes
Confirmed use of contemporary operations technology (ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance systems, AI-assisted procurement or planning tools)
Nice-to-have Requirements
Multi-site operations leadership in premium hospitality environments, luxury retail settings, private K–12 institutions, or healthcare networks serving demanding clientele
Demonstrated history of removing underperforming vendors and developing a reliable local vendor network
Experience directing capital improvement projects (HVAC systems, AV/network infrastructure, landscaping, interior renovations) in active, customer-facing facilities
Familiarity working in an AI-first operational context where playbooks, dashboards, and predictive tools handle routine tasks so staff concentrate on decision-making
