Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled physical inspections at Northeast campus locations against established criteria for cleanliness, HVAC performance, safety compliance, security systems, signage, grounds maintenance, furnishings, and visitor readiness—then ensure corrective actions are completed and verified
- Respond to facilities problems and urgent situations, coordinating external service providers, and confirming resolution before closing work orders (urgent items
- Oversee local vendor compliance with service-level agreements, terminate contracts with repeat non-performers, adjust scopes of work, and conduct difficult accountability discussions regarding quality and pricing
- Establish a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure uniform procedures across all locations rather than ad hoc responses
- Oversee significant campus improvement projects (HVAC replacements, interior updates, landscaping work, AV/network installations) within timeline and budget constraints while limiting student impact
- Document organization-wide standards and AI-supported procurement procedures (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, and centralized vendor management) to ensure consistency in campus openings and daily operations
- Deliver concise weekly written updates covering regional quality metrics, vendor accountability, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking
Basic Requirements
- Located in New York City or within commuting range, prepared to work primarily from the Manhattan campus with 20–40% travel to regional locations
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
- 5+ years managing multi-site facilities, regional operations, hospitality services, retail operations, or educational facility operations
- Documented success managing vendor-delivered services for quality, cost control, and SLA compliance across multiple sites
- Hands-on experience addressing urgent facility challenges (safety hazards, HVAC failures, security concerns, cleanliness standards) with measurable customer satisfaction outcomes
- Consistent written operational discipline: issue tracking, escalation documentation, vendor correspondence, weekly regional performance summaries
- Confirmed experience with contemporary operations platforms (ticketing systems, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, AI-enabled procurement or planning systems)
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Regional operations leadership in premium hospitality environments, high-end retail, private K–12 education, or healthcare systems serving demanding clientele
- Confirmed experience establishing or overhauling a regional operations framework where previous practices depended on individual heroics instead of standardized procedures
- Demonstrated success terminating underperforming vendor relationships and developing reliable local service networks
- Confirmed experience directing capital improvement initiatives (HVAC systems, AV/network infrastructure, landscaping enhancements, interior renovations) in active, customer-facing facilities
- Familiarity with AI-driven operational environments where automated playbooks, dashboards, and predictive tools handle routine tasks so personnel can concentrate on strategic decisions
