Senior Director of Sales
About the Role
Western Funding, Inc. (WFI) is a fast-growing, specialized consumer finance company and a subsidiary of Westlake Financial Services. WFI provides automobile financing to consumers across the credit spectrum through a nationwide network of automotive dealers. As WFI’s Sales leader, the Senior Director of Sales will have overall leadership responsibility for the Sales organization and will play a critical role in driving the company's growth strategy throughout the nation. This is an opportunity for a proven sales leader to build, scale, and optimize a high-performing national sales organization that drives dealer growth, funded loan volume, and overall company performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with Risk, Funding, Dealer Relations, Sales Training, Technology, and other Westlake Financial Services businesses to continually improve WFI's dealer value proposition and make it easier for dealers to do business with WFI—and easier for the Sales organization to sell.
Location
Las Vegas, NV | On-Site
Travel: Approximately 1–2 weeks per month; nationwide travel required to lead and support WFI's Sales organization across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the national Sales strategy designed to accelerate growth in participating dealers and funded loan contracts.
- Set and monitor sales objectives, priorities, KPIs, and performance expectations aligned with WFI's business strategy.
- Identify opportunities to expand market share, increase dealer penetration, and grow funded loan volume.
- Continuously evaluate market trends, dealer needs, competitive activity, and opportunities for growth.
- Serve as the senior leader and strategic voice for the WFI Sales organization.
- Assess organizational health, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead initiatives that increase sales effectiveness.
- Establish clear expectations, performance standards, accountability, and career development opportunities throughout the Sales organization.
- Design and evolve the Sales organization to create the right balance of Inside and Outside Sales to support national growth.
- Recruit, develop, retain, and coach high-performing sales leaders and sales professionals.
- Foster a high-performance culture built around ownership, teamwork, execution, and results.
- Strengthen relationships with automotive dealers to increase dealer participation and loyalty.
- Identify opportunities to improve the dealer experience and remove barriers to doing business with WFI.
- Serve as a senior representative of WFI with key dealer relationships and strategic partners.
- Partner closely with Risk, Funding, Dealer Relations, Sales Training, Technology, and Operations to continuously improve WFI's products, processes, and dealer experience.
- Balance aggressive growth objectives with WFI's target risk profile and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage the scale and capabilities of the broader Westlake Financial Services enterprise.
- Influence enterprise resources and align teams around common business objectives.
- Establish meaningful sales metrics and reporting that provide visibility into performance.
- Evaluate, streamline, and optimize sales processes, systems, tools, and workflows.
- Partner with Sales Training to strengthen new-hire onboarding, ongoing development, coaching, and sales effectiveness.
- Evaluate and evolve sales incentive programs to drive performance, accountability, and alignment with company objectives.
- Leverage technology and data to improve sales productivity, visibility, and execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading and scaling a Sales organization.
- Demonstrated success driving dealer growth, production, market expansion, or other measurable sales growth.
- Experience developing sales strategies, organizational structures, performance metrics, and incentive programs.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and talent-development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable while building a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple business functions.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in automotive finance, indirect lending, consumer finance, fintech, automotive retail, dealer services, or a related industry.
- Experience working with a dealer receivables management or dealer finance business model.
- Knowledge of automotive dealer operations and dealer finance.
- Familiarity with DealerCenter.
- Familiarity with the Nowlake Group of Companies.
- Master's degree preferred.
Pay
Pay range of $180,000 - 350,000 (Base plus bonus). The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
