Senior Director of IT

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced IT leader to shape our technology strategy and drive daily improvements across all departments. This role focuses on breaking down silos, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, and ensuring seamless information flow. You'll work closely with the Executive Leadership Team to monitor financial and cultural health, capture new opportunities, and develop growth strategies. This position is based at our headquarters in Traverse City, MI, and is not remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Custom Application Development: Lead the design and development of custom applications using PHP (Laravel) and TypeScript (Vue 3), integrating with Salesforce to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities, ensuring technology solutions align with organizational needs.
• Salesforce and ERP Optimization: Customize and optimize Salesforce and ERP systems to streamline workflows and improve business performance.
• AI-Driven Development: Champion AI initiatives, leveraging tools like Claude to create custom agents and improve automation.
• Enterprise-Wide Adaptation: Oversee the implementation of technology solutions, aligning systems and processes with strategic goals.
• Budget Management: Own the company-wide technology and infrastructure budget, managing expenditures and vendor relationships.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse team of developers, system administrators, and helpdesk personnel, fostering innovation and growth.
• Strategic Technology Initiatives: Lead initiatives to drive business growth, improve efficiency, and enhance competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• Technical Expertise: Robust background in web application development using PHP, Java, C#, and/or Python, with knowledge of modern frameworks.
• Hands-On Experience: Strong technical skills and willingness to contribute directly to coding projects.
• Cloud Platform Management: Proven experience managing and optimizing AWS and/or Azure environments for high availability and security.
• Problem Solver: Ability to translate operational challenges into effective software solutions that drive business value.
• Project Management Skills: Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and oversee budgets.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
