AMD · San Jose, CA · 4 days ago
On-siteEngineeringFull-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the platform SDK vision spanning tailored SDKs for example: Digital Cockpit, Industrial Systems and Automation, Robotics.
  • Create scalable and easy-to-use SDKs on top of foundational BSP layers to enable differentiated solutions across multiple vertical stacks and accelerate time-to-market for our customers.
  • Drive software development, platform entitlement with programming abstraction, developer experience, system performance, and ecosystem integration, ensuring our SDKs become the foundation for innovation across customers and partners.
  • Lead platform capabilities for virtualized environments, including Hypervisors and partitioning models, VirtIO-based device virtualization, workload isolation across mixed-criticality systems.
  • Oversee development of domain-specific SDKs to bring ease-of-use while exposing the platform and IP capabilities including Camera, Audio, etc.
  • Drive system-level excellence across Real-time determinism and scheduling, Functional safety (ISO 26262, IEC standards), Low-latency and high-throughput pipelines.
  • Build world-class SDK developer experience, including SDK packaging, distribution, and versioning, documentation, sample apps, and reference workflows, integrated tooling (profiling, debugging, observability).
  • Lead implementation of modern CI/CD pipelines for SDK delivery: Continuous integration and validation across hardware/software matrices, automated testing (unit, system, regression), release quality gates and long-term support (LTS) models.
  • Work closely with strategic customers to solicit feedback and continuous improvement of developer experience in terms of capability, features, ease-of-use.
  • Work closely together with strategic key ecosystem partners to create the SDKs, including Canonical (Ubuntu), QNX, Audio Partners, Other OS, middleware, and toolchain providers, influence ecosystem roadmaps to align with platform requirements, enable partner integrations into SDK frameworks.
  • Build and lead global, high-performing engineering teams across geographies, drive technical depth and architectural rigor, strong execution culture and delivery excellence, cross-functional alignment with silicon, firmware, and application teams, strong quality rigor to deliver feature rich and quality software.
  • Partner with product management and customer engineering to ensure market alignment, customer success, competitive differentiation.

Preferred Experience

  • 20+ years of experience in platform system software, platform BSPs and SDK development and quality engineering in embedded markets like automotive, robotics, industrial etc.
  • Experience working with Ecosystem partners like OSVs, Hypervisor vendors, other SW IP vendors and standard bodies.
  • Proven track record of building, scaling and leading large, globally distributed engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in Embedded systems and low-level software, Multi-OS systems (RTOS, Linux, Android, QNX), Virtualization technologies (hypervisors, VirtIO, partitioning), Audio, Camera and other domain specific SDKs.
  • Strong experience building platform SDKs and delivering developer experience including the modern packaging like Dockers etc.
  • Demonstrated success in Driving CI/CD, software quality, and release engineering, Scaling platforms across multiple products and markets, Maximizing engineering efficiency through common development, AI usage, scaling partners.
