Responsibilities
The Senior Director IT Operations will oversee ITOGR governance, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and operational excellence through strategic leadership and continuous improvement across McKesson’s IT operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading IT integration efforts for M&A and divestitures, aligning service processes, knowledge, and user platforms globally
- Stewardship of the Change Advisory Board (CAB), ensuring rigorous planning and testing of technology changes, and overseeing Major Incident Response to protect business continuity and patient care
- Enforcing ITSM policies, integration roadmaps, risk mitigation, and change management plans
- Aligning budgets with organizational goals, building strategic vendor partnerships, and conducting financial reviews
- Overseeing SLAs, KPIs, and service reviews; identifying improvement areas through data analysis
- Leading performance evaluations, succession planning, and targeted training to close skills gaps
- Governing Knowledge Management strategies for high-quality documentation and operational efficiency
- Overseeing knowledge asset lifecycle for rapid issue resolution
- Fostering cross-functional collaboration, ensuring accessibility, and managing Service Request frameworks for efficient fulfillment and user satisfaction
This role requires hybrid work, with an expectation of being in the office 3 days per week, and 10% domestic and international travel.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field, and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. The candidate must have:
- Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in each of the following:
- Leadership experience in IT Operations, Major Incident Management, and ITSM process optimization
- Enterprise Knowledge Management, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable strategies that improve self-service adoption / incident deflection through effective content curation and accessibility
- Designing / implementing enterprise Service Request Models that optimize workflows, enhance user experience, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Leading IT operational integration during large scale M&A transactions, including post-merger harmonization of service management processes, knowledge bases, and user experience platforms across global business units
- Leading Major Incident Management, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure rapid resolution of critical IT disruptions and maintain business continuity
- Managing complex changes, mitigating risks, and delivering results in dynamic, high-pressure environments
- Understanding of IT governance, regulatory compliance, and audit management
- Financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
- Vendor management, contract negotiation, and SLA/KPI development
- Four (4) years of demonstrated experience in each of the following:
- Leveraging AI capabilities to support decision-making, reduce manual effort, and drive continuous improvement across IT operations
Pay
The offered wage for this role is $218,222.50 – $254,300/year.
